Linocutting Once Again!

I have been on another of Clare Melinski's linocutting workshops. It is so intense from 10am, I get so into it, by 3pm I was completely exhausted. A cup of coffee couldn't even pick me up so I'm afraid I wasted the last hour but I am very happy with what I produced today. I love printing on fabric, much more than on paper

  2. Thank you so much! The ink is from here in the UK, Lawrence's Linseed Oil Relief Ink. I mixed my colours just like oil paint for the flowers. This is what Clare uses, I have another make. I will let you know how they mix. I struggle to get good prints on good printing paper. What paper do you use?

  3. I never use oil based paints, always water based, and I 've used a huge range of printmaking papers, no one favorite, since they all behave differently, even affected by humidity and heat. In the climate of NE USA, this is a big point, we specialize in humidity. Daniel Smith, here in the US has an occasional printmaking paper sale where you can buy a sample pack of dozens of sheets, fullsize, of many printmaking papers. I've never decided which I like best!

  4. The paper I am trying to use this time is Fabriano printing paper. I have been told to spray it and leave over night in a plastic bag. I wish here was a recipe where you use this kind of ink and this kind of paper for a sharp effect and this kind for a more blurred muted effect. Dampen the paper like such and such and leave for x amount of hours! I am an impatient kind of person it seems! I have used Daniel smith watercolours and they are lovely..so maybe that is the way to go
