Day 14 - Green Dream

This was a joy to paint - at 5am this morning! Grapes are so gorgeous when the light is on them.
I slipped my painting overalls on, on top of my fleecy pyjamas, grabbed the torch and headed to the studio, 5.05am - large cup of coffee in hand!
I am beginning to love this time of the morning, three hours later I have my daily painting complete. Time for my shower and tea and toast!!
The floor is dry!!!Hooray! I have spent this evening putting everything back in place, moving some things, throwing out a little. I am teaching again on Friday morning, therefore explaining my desperate need for the blessed floor to dry quickly!

  1. You're the second artist in the challenge that sounds like she listened to Lisa Daria's interview on AHA. ;)

Oh, and fantastic grapes. After this challenge is over I intend to spend some more time with grapes. And cherries, and apples, oranges and pears. Maybe the odd pomegranate here and there.

  2. Thank you Dave - I actually started getting up at 5am the day BEFORE Lisa's interview! I laughed out loud when Lisa said she got up at that time every day as it felt like the middle of the night for me the previous morning! I can say now though, that it makes all the difference in the world, just reduces the pressure and at that time all that is my head is painting, making it easier to concentrate! I have some cherries in the fridge waiting to be painted too!

    1. You are so kind, saying those lovely things! Some paintings are easy and others are so hard. Keep going, we all improve with practise

  5. Margaret, I love this, especially the reflection on an almost glass like surface. I too often get up really early and get lots of watercolour washes down before I even take a shower! Something about being up at that time with no noise and before the chaos of the day begins....kind of feels closer to God for some reason at that hour in the morning.
