Day 30 - Blue and New!

Well this is it - my last painting in the challenge! My lovely new "slippers", ones I can nip to the shop in, pop out in the rain for logs etc. Soft leather, so comfy but looking a bit too new for now!
I feel they are just right for my last piece - they are new, I have made new friends, new followers, new paintings and new discoveries about myself - like I can get up at 5am....and function!!!!!!!! I did my first 5am start the day before Lisa Daria was on ArtistsHelpingArtists - I laughed out loud with amazement when I heard she has got up at 5am EVERY morning for 4 years!!! Well, I thought, I've done it once, I can do it again and so I have! I will continue with the early rise as it does seem to work for me, my head has nothing in it but painting, the  mundane household stuff hasn't had a chance to creep into my subconscious. The challenge has been a roller coaster of emotions, tiredness, frustration, inspiration, disappointment, elation, empowerment, pride.......

I started this blog in July 2012, so it has only been 6 months! I hope I can keep posting regularly and keep my followers interested. To "B", I say thank you for your patience..... to all my followers, friends and everyone who took part in the challenge, thank you for the ride!

Make sure you keep painting and posting even if it's only once a week of everyday.

    1. Thank you Cathy, for all your support and your ideas!!!! All in all it was fun, though the early days were fraught! I am having withdrawal symptoms.......... I'm now thinking of joining Dailypaintworks, I need to speak to some UK members to check out mailing etc just to see if it is viable. Do you know of anything in Europe?

  4. Another great painting of shoes. These are very comfortable looking and I get the idea you like a bit of fun with your feet - great color!
The challenge has been a neat way to see new artists and of course anyone who stepped up to the plate to do this challenge had to be a dedicated artist which showed up in the quality of the work.
I am a follower so will not lose track.

  6. Congrats! well done, that was quite a feat. I think it's great that you managed to fit all that painting in to your life, that you managed to last till the end, to not die of stress, and in the process you also managed to produce some very nice paintings.

    1. Thank you Evie, all in all it was fun though stress was an issue for part of the initial process! I have taken lots away from this exercise but probably the most important is that I DO have time to paint every day and the best time is first thing in the morning before the mundane womanly chores of the day encroach on my mind!

  8. My hat is off to you for two reasons. 1) You gave it more than a passing thought (unlike Moi) to follow Lisa Daria's example! 2) You actually did 30 in 30!. Congrats! Love the blue slippers!

  9. Thank you Pamela - it was a real rollercoaster, wasn't it? I am still getting up at 5am, three mornings a week only now but it has been a real turning point. I feel much calmer about how much I can fit into a day.
